Quincy garnered five of the top six spots in the shot put to aid in the overall victory, as Emlyeigh Burlew finished in fourth place with a personal best throw of 28 feet, 11 inches Hallie Jones took fifth place with a throw of 28 feet, 5 inches and Olivia Davenport finished in sixth place with a throw of 27 feet, 0 inches. Horsfall finished in second place in the shot put with a throw of 37 feet, 7 inches followed by a silver medal in the discus with a throw of 118 feet, 6 inches. ![]() Senior Raigen Horsfall also had a big night down in the throwing pits, taking second place in both events with big throws of her own. Snellenberger also brought home the victory in the shot put, winning with a throw of 38 feet, 8 inches. Leading the way for the Oriole throwers was senior Sophia Snellenberger who not only swept the two events, she did so in record breaking fashion. Snellenberger not only won the discus, she did so by breaking her own school record, setting the new mark of 147 feet, 11 inches, breaking her previous mark of 144 feet, 0 inches by nearly four feet. Quincy’s championship effort was paced by their amazing throwers who were dominant in both disciplines, finishing in first and second in both the shot put and discus while also claiming five of the top six spots in the shot put and four of the top six spots in the discus. Athens finished in fifth place, followed by Comstock, Sturgis, Jackson Prep and Maple Valley. Leslie finished in third place with a score of 97 points, followed by Union City in fourth place with 74.5 points. In the girls’ meet it was Quincy taking the championship of their home tournament with a score of 154 points, just edging the team from Pittsford who took second place with a score of 145.5 points. Quincy has indicated that the All Sports Day format will return next year.Īs for this year’s track and field invite, the night belonged to the Quincy Lady Orioles who used dominance down in the throwing pits to race to victory. ![]() The Quincy All Sports Day was cancelled this season however, Quincy High School did host the track and field invite on Friday with the soccer tournament taking place on Saturday. The track and field invite has, in years past, been a part of Quincy’s All Sports Day, a day that has traditionally seen track and field joined by baseball, softball and soccer for a full day of invitational action.
